But just because they’re cheap, doesn’t mean that you have to settle for plastic ones. Nowadays, many wine glass companies have started making affordable alternatives to their higher end lines. Here are a few tips you can use if you want to buy wine glasses that are easy on the pocket.

Department stores and discount stores are usually a good place to start looking for affordable wine glasses. You will find them already boxed in sets of 4s, 6s or 8s. If you’re thinking of using them at a party and you will need to buy a lot, you may even ask for a wholesale lot that will make each individual wine glass cost cheaper.

If you have the opportunity to inspect the merchandise first before purchase, make sure that you check if the glasses have a bit of heft to them. This means that they don’t feel too light when you hold them and that the glasses are not too thin. Also, try to look for glasses that don’t have any imperfections such as air bubbles and any unwanted indention.

Buying cheap wine glasses can allow you to serve wine to a large number of guests without you constantly worrying about the small fortune you have just spent if you were to buy a number of expensive sets for a party. Buying food and drink online may seem a little crazy; in fact some people do their entire weekly food shopping online. But there are some items that buying online can actually be much better than buying at the supermarket, items such as wine which can be difficult to purchase to the novice wine drinker. Wine has often been thought of as a drink that needs to be drank in the right context and serve as the right accompaniment to a meal.

Knowing all the right combinations and places to go to get wine can be confusing and so it would ideally be helpful if we could get a bit more information when presented with an entire aisle in the supermarket of hundreds of different wines. Buying online could help get more information as well as a few other important benefits.

Firstly when buying online you are guaranteed a genuine original wine and reviews and recommendations will flag up any potential scam websites or sites with bad service so you’ll be able to easily find out which sites are genuine. Before buying from any online merchant have a search online to see if anyone had any problems with that site, if the site has recommendations from wine experts then you’re likely to be safe buying from them.

Wine experts are useful in other ways as some review wines on particular sites and provide helpful advice and tips on what wine goes with what food as well as what wines to avoid. Some wine retailers even have online communities, podcasts and forums in which people review the wines they’ve had recently which can serve as a good indicator as to what is worth getting and people’s recommendations.

Buying wine online isn’t just about getting reviews too, most supermarkets and local off licenses will tend to stock what is popular in their store, something that can limit the range of wines available, especially the more expensive or exclusive wines. On the internet you can buy a much wider range of wines as well as being able to import wines that are not available in your country. An exclusive bottle of wine direct from the source is a perfect gift for wine lovers and ensures you get a truly unique drinking experience that store bought wines cannot match.

So whether you are buying wine for the first time or fancy something new and exciting then try buying online to see a world of variety to choose from.

You canbuy discount wine online as well as buy discount beer online that can help save you money and get them delivered to your door.

I have been looking for a great cigar to go golfing with for years. I think I found one that is very nice and smooth. There are so many cigars out there to choose from that I think I have a life time job trying new cigars. Oh well, you gotta have something to do. Here are some other reviews too. I went with the Arturo Fuente. I have some reviews below but I think this a a great cigar for the links or the stock market. It’s great when you find something and it’s especially great when you find a great cigar at a great price. Life is just grand. Thanks Arturo Fuente

This is a great cigar. As good as any cigar on the market. Well worth the extra dollar or two for a fantastic cigar. – Ron R

Back to back sensational showings from the Don Carlos line. This cigar was exceptional and was the equal of the #3 I had a few days earlier. Highly recommend this cigar as well. – Ryan

Rated 88. Oily, toothy with nice leaf construction. Very consistent Don Carlos flavor. Slightly uneven burn, fixed itself. Long flakey ash that fell fairly flush with foot. Slightly sweet aroma and finish, very rich flavors and well balanced. Fairly consistent the whole way through with a gradual build in body down to the nub. – Cigar.com, July 2006 (TN)

Rated 92. A very good-looking torpedo with a chocolate-brown wrapper. Well-balanced notes of coffee, cedar and earth come through before a toasty finish. – Cigar Insider, January 2006

Smoked this with a good friend. I found that I liked the other Arturo Fuente cigars better. This was a little too pricy becuase I found the cigar not too impressive or unique. It had a med spice but it was a bit harsh. – Jon Lung

Don Carlos Double Robusto

Rated 87. Toothy, oily, with a silky smooth wrapper, excellent vein construction. Milky, smooth start with thick smoke. Slightly tight pull but a lot of flavor. Earthy aroma and sweet on the palate. Slightly uneven burn. Very consistent body and aromas. Not the best of the line. – Cigar.com, July 2006 (TN)

Rated 89. Rich smoke loads the palate with nutty and caramel flavors. The mellow finish has a light cedar note. A smooth and rich cigar overall. – Cigar Insider, January 2006

Rated 88. This toothy cigar has a fine, even draw. Teh smoke has cedar and sweet spice on the palate, and it builds in a richness as it is smoked to develop solid earthy flavors. Medium bodied. – Cigar Aficioando, October 2006

Don Carlos you are a Genius. Another Super fine Mouth watering cigar. I cannot smoke enough of these, and they are also stocked in my Humidor. – K Doty

Don Carlos No. 2

This cigar has a slow start but after the first inch it becomes a classic. A very nice looking cigar. – Jason H.

Rated 90. Toothy, silky smooth with a darker wrapper, solid to the touch. Effortless draw with a very rich aroma. Smooth thick smoke with a dark gray ash, some floral notes. Not too sweet on the palate. Not the greatest burn but complex, consistent and balanced. – Cigar.com, July 2006 (TN)

Rated 91. Well made and attractive, this cigar has a smooth draw and even burn. Wood flavors carry traces of cinnamon and leather, finishing on a toasty note. – Cigar Insider, January 2006

Rated 87. Good construction and color on this figurado, which has a fine draw. It has a solid medium body, with hints of coffee grounds. – Cigar Aficionado, February 2007

Don Carlos No. 3

Just finished one of these fine cigars. Unbelievably smooth with an excellent draw. This is my favorite of the Fuente line so far and I have had a few. I recommend this cigar to everyone out there. – Ryan

It is almost pathetic to see the “89″ as a rating for this cigar. I have never smoked a better non-Cuban cigar, and even then only a couple Cubans might narrowly edge this Fuente Carlos #3 on my taste buds, most notably being the Montecristo Gran Corona A. Other than that, this cigar is as good as it gets. Period. – old mole

I agree with the last review. An 89 rating in Cigar Aficianado is shocking. This became one of my “top Five” after a few puffs and I have smoked them all. Lots and lots of flavor from this cigar. – Blair

Rated 89. Oily, toothy, silky and a slightly veiny wrapper that’s solid to the touch. Effortless draw with a mellow start. Filler burned slightly slower than binder and wrapper. Very consistent, slightly complex without too much development. Well balanced, medium all around, foot to nub. Very consistent Don Carlos character and flavor. – Cigar.com, July 2006 (TN)

Rated 89. This corona burns evenly, giving off a rich, nutty aroma. It delivers a nice range of cocoa, roasted coffee and charred wood flavors. The finish is nutty as well. – Cigar Insider, January 2006

Don Carlos No. 4

great cigar. i love all of the Don Carlos line. everyone of them has a very similar taste, burn, and draw. they are worth the money. but try the #3 first. it will knock your socks off…if your wearing any. – david z

Rated 89. Smooth, seamless, oily and toothy wrapper. Easy draw with lots of smoke and a tight dark ash. Excellent burn and construction. Slight spice developed, great aroma. Slight tar build up near the end. Very consistent the whole way through, great cigar and a great size for the blend. – Cigar.com, July 2006 (TN)

Rated 89. A well-made short figurado with an even burn. Its firm draw imparts sweet caramel notes and a leathery, peppery finish. Good strength and depth for a small cigar. – Cigar Insider, January 2006

Don Carlos Presidente

Rated 90. Silky smooth, oily and toothy with a dark aromatic wrapper. Amazing pull with a burst of flavor and lots of smoke. Subtle sweetness with a very tight flake-less ash, very smooth flavor. Very consistent, slightly bitter 2nd half but faded away. Medium to full flavor with a mild body. Solid cigar. – Cigar.com, July 2006 (TN)

Rated 88. This cigar shows toast and wood flavors that are mellow, yet rich. The earthy finish smacks of spice and leather. A well-balanced cigar that improves as it burns. – Cigar Insider, January 2006

Rated 88. This cigar has a veiny wrapper and a nice draw. The smoke is sweet, with ginger notes, lots of wood and caramel, and a touch of dry wood. Medium bodied and sweet. – Cigar Aficionado, December 2007

Don Carlos Robusto

One of the most consistent burning cigars that I have ever smoked. The taste is outstanding. The draw is exceptional. This is a cigar well worth the price! – Mark

Is your wine collection getting to large to store at home?  Maybe you should consider professional wine storage services to protect your investment in your wine collection.

Wine requires special storage conditions. Using wine storage services is important because they have areas specifically designed for wine storage. Each storage unit has lockable private vaults with controlled conditions. Temperature is regulated at around 55 degrees Fahrenheit and there is low light exposure.  This would what a home Wine Cellar Storage would do.

They also maintain humidity levels of around 60 percent to ensure your wine stays at its optimal condition. Wine, unlike other alcoholic beverages such as vodka, is perishable since it does not contain enough alcohol to serve as a preservative.
It’s common knowledge that wine gets better with age. However, some wines do not follow this pattern.  Every care needs to be taken to avoid any kind of problems later.

Using wine storage services is one of the surest ways to help your wine get better. Just Like living organisms wine has its maturity point that once reached cannot be reversed. Wine stored at home is more likely to reach this stage faster than when using wine storage services.

It would be a waste of money to spend $200 or more on a bottle of wine only to let it deteriorate due to poor storage. Wine is very expensive and hence people will really want to preserve it at all costs, which is very important.

Normally the most important thing is the light, which create a problem for the wine and can really damage it badly and also the ultraviolet rays, which are very dangerous and can create a major problem for the wine.  The ultraviolet rays can spoil it, which certainly is not what you want. You should always take proper care to preserve the wine and keep it good shape and people should keep it stored properly, which is the most important thing for preserving your wine.

If you think a wine cellar or wine storage services are too expensive, you may want to consider a Wine Storage Refrigerator.  One of the best you can get is a Dual Zone Wine Refrigerator.  It can keep your favorite wine chilled at the perfect temperature so you can serve it to your guests at anytime.

Whether you have a wine cellar, use wine storage services, or buy a wine storage refrigerator, it is important to protect your investment and keep your wine at the right temperature and keep light away from it.  The best place to do more research is the Internet where you will find many useful websites to help you make your decision.

Start your research on the Internet at Dual Zone Wine Refrigerator and also you can get more information at Wine Storage Refrigerator.

But this is not about what wine to serve for the big meal. Since the Christmas dinner is not as consistent as the Thanksgiving dinner, it is more difficult to offer suggestions.  Sure, some still roast a turkey, but more and more, people are dining on roast beef, roast pork, ham or, this being Southern California, Mexican dishes are often the norm.  If you need help with pairing your food with the perfect type of wine, La Maison Gourmet has done all the work for you right here.

This is all about two major issues that come up each Christmas Season.  I am not referring to gifts for the family, but how to handle the wine choices at the company holiday party, for one.  And if you should be so lucky, what wine to serve at the holiday party you agreed to host; the one that sounded like such a great idea when it was planned during Thanksgiving dinner.

So here you are at the company Christmas party, or perhaps a friend or co-worker’s home for a cocktail party.  There is little chance that the wine you normally would enjoy will be served.  Thus, you are not surprised when you get there and don’t recognize the wine being served.

What better way to venture off on a different path than when your only other choice is to not drink wine at all?   And this way, you don’t have to spend your own money while you experiment.

Now be honest with yourself – don’t you often say you love to try different wines, and yet stick with your favorites?  This is not the time for a rum and Coke©, this is an opportunity to expand your horizons.  You may be surprised with the results.  This is how I enjoyed my first Pinot Grigio.

So, for you red wine drinkers out there, saunter up to the bar and order a Chardonnay.  And those of you who can’t understand the appeal of red, ask the bartender if he would pour you a small taste of that Central Coast Pinot Noir, and then you may understand why the movie Sideways became so popular.

§

Planning your own party evening presents itself with a whole new set of problems.  You remember what you went through at the party you attended, right?  Well, now the shoe is on the other foot and it is up to you to serve wines that would be worthy of your own palate, yet not break the bank.

Sure, you could go the least expensive route and buy cases of wine that might cost less than a single bottle.  Or fill up with the “sales” from the local warehouse wine outlet who are often offering wines that they have not been able to sell because the big, mass production wine companies made too much.  You may save some money, but nobody will leave your party commenting on your wine choices.

This is not about impressing your friends, but the perfect time to realize that you don’t have to bust the budget on your wine offerings.  With so many great choices available, I could not begin to list them all here.  I am going to try and keep it as simple as possible by offering three types of wine, offering suggestions only for reference.

For starters, a white wine that is easy drinking and blends well with almost anything.  As a bonus, white wines are often less expensive than reds, so you can often trade up and get a nice quality wine for half of what it may cost in red.  You can get great deals from all over the world, with the Aussies and New Zealanders doing great things with Sauvignon Blanc.  If you want to stay with domestic, Hoopla Chardonnay from Napa is a great buy right now, and the white wine lovers will thank you.

Choosing the red wine selection for the evening can be a little trickier.  You may have noticed that I said two red wine choices.  Red wine sales exceed white wine, and it may surprise you, but even among women.  So you need to be able to serve a wider spectrum of tastes, and satisfy them with only two choices, not an easy task.  Here is where you may want to consult with your local wine merchant, and I can’t recommend anyone more highly than these two.  Not only will they give you honest answers, they fully understand the meaning of the word budget!

To get you thinking of some options before you talk with them, let me offer my thoughts.  First, you want a red wine that is easy to drink, light and accessible.  One that immediately comes to mind is Pinot Noir, as mentioned above.  Those from Washington State or the Central Coast of California are always winners.  Forgetting the old days of “Hearty Burgundy”, you could also try original Pinot Noir, the wines from Burgundy, France.

Staying in France for the moment, Beaujolais-Villages wines are also delicious, fruity, easy drinking red wines that fit perfectly in a casual evening party setting.  And for those who like their wines slightly chilled, like most white wine drinkers, Beaujolais can be lightly chilled.  Beaujolais has been called “the only white wine that happens to be red”.  But please, do not mix up this wine with Beaujolais-Nouveau, a wine that is released one or two months after it has been harvested, normally, the third Thursday in November.

The third choice would be a more substantial red wine, the one that your guests would choose after they have tried the others.  Of course there will be those that choose this style first, but that would be there mistake.  By skipping your other choices, they would have lost out on a great opportunity to try new wines.

Here you have even more choices than you think.  Of course Cabernet Sauvignon will be on your list of options, and rightfully so.  But this could be used as a time to introduce your friends to wines from other parts of the world.  Both Chile and Argentina offer excellent value in Cabernet, as well as Malbec and Syrah.

In California, winemakers seemed to have discovered the beauty of Syrah.  They have caught up with the Australian’s in that respect.  Sure, the Australian version is called Shiraz, but it is the same grape.  Just be careful, as there is much Shiraz on the market that really should be sold as bulk, or jug wine.

I could go on, because I have not even mentioned the great values coming out of Spain for example.  Or the wines of Oregon, Italy, Germany, South Africa, even Canada.  Heck, I hear the wines from the Niagara Peninsula are great, and I am looking forward to trying the wines from the Finger Lakes region of New York State.  Then there is the emergence of wine growing in Eastern European countries – is anyone ready for a Tokaj wine from Hungary?  Maybe next year!

Salut and Joyeux Noël!
