Groomsmens Gifts?

Question by robert p: Groomsmens Gifts?
I am looking for ORIGINAL ideas for my groomsmen’s gifts under $ 30. Cigar , Scotch, and Wine accessories are my first thoughts but nothing has jumped out yet. I typed “groomsmen gifts” in yahoo or Google but only came up with garbage or gifts out of my price range. Any ideas?

I would probably get cuff links, maybe small bottles of cologne, tickets to the movie, gift certificates to a favorite resturant, I would say NFL tickets but I think that would not be in budget

A nice pen set – could be engraved
    A necktie
Dress socks – black, brown and blue
Bottle of ______ (rum, scotch, bourbon, etc.)
Gift Card to a sporting goods store or restaurant
Pocket Knife – could be engraved
A flask – could be engraved

I got married a few months ago and gave my groomsmen a couple bottles of wine in Built NY – Overbuilt wine totes … the things are amazing. For under $ 30, you could drop down to the one-bottle tote and a $ 10-12 bottle of wine (plenty of really great wine at that price, just head to a wine shop and talk to one of the salesmen/women)

Give them a gift card to a steakhouse or nice restaurant in your area. That’s the best gift my husband ever got for a wedding and something they will actually use.

Don’t do flasks because that’s so overdone – my friend’s boyfriend has five engraved flasks from being in weddings! People don’t appreciate those and it’s wasted money.

My boyfriend was a bestman this summer and got a game for his Nintendo Wii and also a tie to wear with his tux. One groom’s man got a bottle of Crown Royal. You can get something personal for each and not necessarily the same thing for everyone – it’s more personal and shows you put more thought into it.

Video games, books, gift cards, liquer, etc, are all usually appreciated and used.

How about tickets for a guys’ day to a major league baseball game? Those are around $ 20 each (depending on where you want to sit), and it gives you guys something to look forward to. (It also reminds them that you want to spend time with them even though you’re married.)

Bottles of their favorite liquor (SoCo, Jack, Captain, Firewater, etc.) are also a great gift. Or an emergency car kit (flashlight, flares, etc.) works, too!

I think the main idea is to get something they can keep forever to remember the day. It can be something practical, it just depends on the guys. Most of our friends are “white collared” so something nice like a clock for their desks would be nice. Maybe even a nice picture frame with an engraved message that they can put a pic from the wedding in.

My husband did personlized bar signs. You can custom order them with themes with names. They were a huge hit.

Why do cuff links always get mentioned? Very few guys wear french cuffs anymore, and a $ 30 set would be just plain crappy.
